Fundraising with Christmas doughnuts
Australia really is the lucky country as we are one of the few places outside of the US which has Krispy Kreme. Even better is the fact they have a very successful fundraising program which you can read about here.
For a limited time – between November 19th and December 22nd – the Christmas Dozen will be available to fundraisers in addition to the Original Glazed and Assorted Dozen.
In each Christmas Dozen, there is:
- 6 Original Glazed
- 3 new Snowy doughnuts – dipped in truffle, filled with raspberry flavoured jam and with a sour strap scarf
- 3 new Puddings doughnuts – filled with custard, dipped in chocolate with white truffle, glace cherry and white chocolate leaf.
Who can fundraise with Krispy Kreme?
Any community or not-for-profit group such as schools, registered charities, sporting groups and community organisations are eligible to take part in the fundraising program. Groups may fundraise once a quarter with Krispy Kreme.
You must provide a letter on the organisation’s letterhead and signed by a person of authority (president, principal or chairman) when booking a fundraiser with Krispy Kreme.
The Krispymas Christmas dozen is perfect for any event including Christmas fetes and festivals, end of year parties, community carols nights, church or event catering or school graduation dinners.
How much profit can we make fundraising with Krispy Kreme?
The Christmas Dozen is available to groups for $16, and it is recommended you sell at $23 per dozen, making a $7 profit per box.
You can also order the Original Glazed dozen for $13 a box, with a RRP of $19 (profit $6).
The Assorted Dozen (a mix of Original Glazed, Choc Iced, Choc Iced Sprinkles and Strawberry Iced) costs $16, with a RRP of $23 (profit $7).
Please note these prices don’t take into account delivery/freight charges and only apply to orders that are picked up in-store.
There is a minimum order of 30 dozen, which can be any combination of the Christmas Dozen, Mixed Dozen or Original Glazed.
- If you sell 50 boxes of the Christmas Dozen at RRP, your profit would be $350.
- If you sell 250 boxes of Christmas Dozen at RRP, your profit would be $1,750.
- PLUS you would receive 20 bonus dozen Original Glazed, which will net you a further $380 FREE from Krispy Kreme as part of the bonus program (see below).
Please note, if you are selling at an event such as a fete, Carols night or end of year party you can sell some or all of the doughnuts individually, greatly increasing your profit.
How do I organise a Krispy Kreme Christmas Fundraiser?
Don’t wait!
The Krispymas Christmas Dozen will be available for all groups holding a fundraiser between November 19th and December 22nd, 2019.
A minimum of two weeks notice is required for all fundraising orders, and final orders should be in by December 8th, 2019.
Make an enquiry on the website, giving the preferred date of your fundraiser and the approximate number of dozens you wish to order. A consultant will respond within 1-2 days to confirm if that date is available.
For more information on the booking process click here.
Payment and delivery
Once your fundraiser has been confirmed, you can start taking orders from your customers, collecting money at the same time (you will need to create your own order form). Alternatively, if they are for an event, you skip this step and just proceed with your order.
The final numbers are required two weeks before your event, and payment is required one week prior to your event, either by credit card or direct deposit.
If you are located near a Krispy Kreme store, you can organise a fundraiser anytime the store is open. Retail and factory shops open between 6am and 9am, seven days a week, depending on its location, which you can find out here: https://www.krispykreme.com.au/our-stores
Additionally, some stores can arrange delivery (for a fee) within a specified region Monday to Friday. All weekend fundraisers must be collected from the store by the fundraising group.
Krispy Kreme will air-freight doughnuts to Far North Queensland airports (Mackay, Rockhampton, Cairns and Townsville) and Tasmania (Hobart and Launceston) for a fee, and depending on the local flight schedule.
Check here for delivery information.
Fundraising for the RSPCA
Krispy Kreme has been doing good work with the RSPCA for a number of years, and any group who chooses to raise funds exclusively for the RSPCA will be eligible for an additional 5 dozen Original Glazed for your event.
What else do you need to know?
Krispy Kreme offer a bonus system to help fundraising groups, providing an extra 10 free Original Glazed boxes for every 100 boxes ordered (up to 40 free boxes). Please note delivery and freight charges still apply to free boxes.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts are best eaten within 24 hours, and should not be frozen or refrigerated, so you need to arrange your collection/delivery time carefully. Please keep in mind transportation and storage arrangements.
There are no returns for unsold dozens if you have ordered for an event, not that you’re likely to have any.
Apparently, Father Christmas’ preferred flavour is the Pudding while Mrs Claus can’t go past the Original Glazed. Just saying.
If you are selling by pre-order and have a collection day arranged for your customers, there will undoubtedly be people who forgot to order. You could consider ordering a few extra dozen and selling them at a premium on the day, raffling them or auctioning them to the highest bidder.
